As the feet are at the very foundation of the body, they may be the source of a postural problem, or an adaptation or reaction to it. The podiatrist will draw up a treatment plan to remedy the pain caused by a postural or biomechanical anomaly. The lifespan of Cryos orthotics varies from 2 to 5 years for an adult and 12 to 24 months for a child, depending on growth. Yes, you may feel a little sore when you start wearing your orthotics. Your body will gradually adapt to the work they do. Specialists do not always agree on the balance between movement and immobility. For almost a century, the conventional ideology for correcting foot dysfunction and postural discomfort was based on immobilising the foot in an “ideal” corrective position. However, by immobilising the foot, the healthy, dynamic movements of the foot may also be limited, resulting in an uncomfortable device and sub-optimal treatment.

Damaged orthotics can be repaired depending on the severity of the damage. Scratches, animal bites and surface damage can usually be repaired. If your orthotics need to be replaced, your podiatrist may have to redo your scans and send a new prescription to the orthotic laboratory. This system uses the reflection of light on the skin to map your postural state. It is therefore necessary to remove your clothes during the examination, while keeping your underwear on. In fact, the CryoVizion is a roomy enough cabin that you can enter standing up and move around easily. Inside, a thick curtain covers the wall behind which the imaging system is installed. This means that only a blurred, coloured image of your silhouette is visible on the screen. Once in the booth, you can remove your clothes and keep your underwear on, in complete privacy and safety for the assessment. As you follow your podiatrist’s instructions (via a loudspeaker) on the different postures to adopt, light is projected onto your whole body. Cameras capture the reflection of this light on your skin and reveal, for example, the loads, imbalances and compensations that are in play. The CryoVizion then displays the results in the form of detailed, coloured images, and the podiatrist analyses them with you.
N.B. Before proceeding with this examination, you will be asked to sign an authorisation form for the images to be taken. In addition, depending on your condition, your podiatrist may ask you to pull down your panties in order to take a posterior view of your pelvis. You are free to refuse at any time if you are uncomfortable.
